My larger sculptural works take months to create due to my unique construction process. Often, while literally waiting for the glue to dry, I am inspired to “play” and create small sculptures that I can build in much shorter periods of time. For me, these small-scale sculptures act as a three dimensonal sketch, where I work out ideas, textures or forms on a much smaller scale. Many of these works are part of my Micro/Macro series, in which I envision these small personal sculptures as maquettes to the ultimate large public works.
